Business Development Manager - 3 year assignment in the U.S. (m/w/d)

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and close new business opportunities for Phase III & Commercial projects in assigned Territory (U. S. & Europe)
  • Take ownership of projects and be responsible for their success (managed by a project manager)
  • Grow contract manufacturing sales for services out of Ravensburg, Germany
  • Support customers until transition to account management team following commercial launch
  • Identify and qualify prospective companies within Territory (U. S. & Europe)
  • Collaborate and work closely with Early Stage team on transfers and molecule strategy early in the process
  • Collaborate and work closely with Early Stage team to define the territory strategy for events and other marketing activities
  • Prepare quotes
  • Facilitate & negotiate CDA, development & supply agreements
  • Promote Vetter via social media, industry associations & trade shows
  • Host customer visits in Germany
  • Contact biotech/pharma companies and follow up leads
  • Maintain lead database
  • Develop new business opportunities & demonstrate customer interaction
  • Built relationships with all relevant Biotech stakeholders in your territory ( consultants, cluster organization, investors, KOLs)
  • Seek new networking channels
  • Exhibit/speak at trade shows & industry events
  • Answer 80% of customer questions within Late Stage NBD without SMEs
  • Manage active customer accounts governance without VP escalation
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work at our U.S. location for three years after one year at the Ravensburg site
  • Technical or Scientific Degree (B.S. or M.S.) in applied science or engineering and 2+ years selling experience preferred.
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in aseptic pharma manufacturing and packaging desirable
  • Knowledge of CDMO requirements
  • English fluency required, German fluent (for RV colleagues) for US Colleagues not needed
